How To Effectively Use Autogenic Training For Pain Relief

For decades, people have used autogenic training for pain relief. It is the most scientifically studied self-regulation tool in history. It is also the foundation on which we developed our Holistic Medicine approach, as well as Biogenics®, with its sixty-eight exercises.

The six basic mental exercises of Autogenic Training allow one to go into a moderately deep trance, reduce anxiety and depression. More importantly, they also enhance healing, and several exercises are particularly good for pain control.

The first Autogenic Training exercise for pain relief is derived from native America Indian philosophy. It is called collect and release.

Starting with the feet, breathe in and collect all sensations from your feet and breathe out, release them. Repeat.

Then twice breathe in and collect all sensations from your legs; breathe out and release them.

Then twice breathe in and collect and release all sensations from your abdomen.

Proceed in turn to your low back, your chest, your arms and hands, your neck, and your entire head.

Then do two final collections of all sensations from feet all the way up through the head and let them go. This leaves you free of all pain.

The second Autogenic Training technique is especially helpful for controlling pain.

The next technique is breathing through the skin of the right hand for twenty minutes until the hand becomes totally numb. Once you learn that, you can transfer the tool to any place in the body and make it numb.

Interestingly, Shealy has had major surgery with no anesthesia using this approach.

This third technique for pain relief will also put you in a state of expanded consciousness.

The third Autogenic Training technique for pain relief is to imagine expanding your electromagnetic field. Think of your electromagnetic field to be similar to the aura in paintings of Christ and saints.

Begin by expanding your electromagnetic field one inch around your feet, then your legs, abdomen and low back, your chest, your arms and hands, your neck and your head. Then expand the electromagnetic field to 12 inches around your feet, legs, abdomen, low back, chest, arms and hands, your neck and your head.

Once in that state of expanded consciousness, you can travel in time and space or just enjoy being free of pain. In fact, this state of consciousness is the foundation for traveling in time and space to a former life, etc.

Of course, the root cause of much pain may be a past injury or experience, which also needs to be resolved. Once in the state of freedom from pain, you may add forgiveness and blessing and release the past into the hand of God.
