The Founding of the Shealy-Sorin Wellness Institute

1971

In 1971, Dr. Norman Shealy, one of the world’s leading experts in pain, anxiety, depression and chronic disease management, opened his one of a kind Shealy Pain & Rehabilitation Center, making it the first of its kind, Holistic Pain Management & retraining of the nervous system for those who failed conventional medicine.

1972-1974

Dr. C. Norman Shealy completed his Humanistic Psychology PhD in Holistic self-regulation & stress management. Leading to the development of Biogenics and the book “90 Days to self health”. Biogenics is the foundation for self-regulation & stress management, essential tools for survival in todays world.

2007

In 2007, Dr. Sergey Sorin, at this time a practicing conventional, allopathic trained physician, experienced a life-altering diagnosis of stage 3 colon cancer with a prognosis of less than 2 years to live. This was the foundation for Dr. Sorin to transcend his conventional medical training into the world of truly Holistic Health & Wellness, personally & professionally.

In 2013, Dr. Sergey Sorin co-founded Samvit Wellness LLC focusing on the healing and scientific use of Sound (starting from the foundations based in the Monroe Institute), including Binaural Beats and Gamma Technology for a wide range of human applications from managing pain, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, relaxation, sleep and other common issues as well as optimizing human potential in terms of physical, mental and emotional as well as spiritual aspects.

In April, 2015 while giving a presentation and Holistic Health workshop in Kansas City, MO, on Binaural Beats and pain management, Dr. Sorin met and soon after joined forces with Dr. Norm Shealy.

Dr. Sorin works with Dr. Shealy as the Medical Director of the Shealy-Sorin Wellness Institute, offering truly holistic healthcare by clinical appointments in person and tele-medicine, holding workshops, holistic health training, as well as giving talks and presentations in addition to clinical work & research.

In 2017, Dr. Shealy and Dr. Sorin put together the first International Holistic Health Summit, in Kansas City, Missouri, the same place as their first meeting, two years prior.
