The Financial Cost of Being a Couch Potato
On September 10, 2016 the Journal of the American Heart Association published an article stating the cost of inactivity per individual is $2500 PER YEAR in extra MEDICAL expenses. The lifetime cost for an inactive 20 year old assuming they will die not later than age 70, and suffer innumerable disease problems, is $125,000. Thus in reality they should have to pay $2500 per year more in medical insurance than someone who walks 30 minutes 5 days a week. Of course only 3% of Americans get that minimal required physical exercise!!!
