When we bring up past life therapy (PLT) to resolve past life trauma with patients, many are reluctant. Their reluctance stems from their Christian beliefs. However, once we explain to them the truth of past lives and Christianity, they are open to learning more about past life therapy.
Until 325 A. D., reincarnation was part of Christianity and the Bible.
It was in 325 that the evil emperor Constantine forced it out of the Bible. He did not want people to think they had a second chance!
Interestingly, his distorted mind was such that he did not convert to Christianity himself until his death bed. His delayed conversion allowed him to continue being a barbarian until his last days.
This is well documented in REINCARNATION IN CHRISTIANITY, by Geddes McGregor, a Scottish Anglican Priest.
You also need to know about the thousands of cases of reincarnation Dr. Ian Stevenson and Dr. James Tucker at University of Virginia have documented. And they are not alone in their research.
At Shealy-Sorin Wellness we worked with hundreds of patients using past life therapy to assist them in overcoming serious emotional and physical illnesses in their current life due to past life trauma.
Anger, anxiety, depression and severe pain are sometimes difficult to overcome, when there was a traumatic death in a previous life.
And, of course, not all PLT sessions deal with past life trauma. There are instances of pleasant, happy, loving experiences when we meet a friend or lover from a previous life. Shealy has written about some of his experiences in CONVERSATIONS WITH G: A Physician’s Encounter with Heaven.
One such positive instance occurred when Shealy met Sorin, he immediately recognized Sorin as an old friend from their mutual life hundreds of years ago as companions with St. Francis.
Yet not all of Shealy’s encounters with past life companions have been pleasant. Shealy encountered his most serious injury in this life when an enemy from a previous life jerked his neck dislocating the spine. The dislocated spine caused temporary paralysis which, fortunately, corrected with emergency neurosurgery.
Past life trauma appears to often be at the root of transgender transformation desires. There is some unfinished emotional trauma from a previous life.
One person whose transgender transformation decision was rooted in past life trauma is Jason.
At the time he was undergoing transgender transformation, Jason was married and the father of two children. He and his wife had a 14-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter.
His wife, Cena, came for therapy after learning that her husband had been cross-dressing and living as a female when traveling on business. When Cena threatened to leave Jason, take the children and file for divorce, Jason reacted. He asked for therapy to change their behavior – not his own.
Luckily, Jason quickly took responsibility for his own life.
During his PLT session, he went into a past life where he had leprosy. He was living in a colony of lepers where he could see his wife and children only from a distance.
In his previous life, he was nearing the time of his death and was being tended by other lepers. He had no feeling in his body and had been losing fingers and toes. Death came soon after he went into unconsciousness.
His past life trauma was significant. In that life, Jason was a man who died alone, in sickness, with no one to help him. He had been apart from his wife and children.
His birth into his current life came as his mother delivered him while on drugs. The drugs took away his ability to feel anything in his body. This was rooted in his past life trauma of death by leprosy.
The birth of his second child in this life re-stimulated the past life trauma of dying alone with leprosy. His unconscious mind started repeating the past life experience.
He had to find some way to avoid being the man. He discovered transgender and became determined to escape into the world of the female.
Past life trauma can cause unlimited problems and past life therapy can often turn life around to happiness.
One 50-year-old woman was dying of metastatic breast cancer. In a single PLT session she recognized that she as angry with her husband for not empathizing with her illness. In a past life her husband of this life watched her being killed so that he could marry another woman. She forgave him for that past life trauma and within three months was totally free of cancer.
Any time there is otherwise failure of all holistic therapy to help significantly with a physical or emotional ailment, it is wise to seek past life therapy.
Since the previous life may turn out to be very emotionally traumatic, it is necessary for the therapist to be with the patient to help resolve the trauma. However difficult PLT may be, it can also be lifesaving!
It is from this essence of deep and abiding care and concern that we practice holistic medicine at Shealy-Sorin Wellness Institute.
