Fruits – Nectars of the Gods

FRUITS – NECTARS OF THE GODS
Fruits may be even more plentiful than vegetables, are generally sweeter and loaded with antioxidants. Although I am not a vegetabalarian, as our 12 year old son called it when we tried for 15 months a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet, and definitely not a vegan, about which I will write in greater detail, a fruit/nut diet would at least be remarkably luscious! With the legumes, peanuts and cashews and a bit of yeast (yeast is an animal!), one could live a healthy life. Certainly one should include at least a couple of servings of fruit daily. I will list here only those reasonably available, many temperate and some subtropical varieties. There are many crosses of some of these varieties, scores more tropical fruits, etc.
