C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D.?
In both men and women urinary tract infections (UTI’s) are one of the plagues of existence. E-coli is the most common “cause” of such infections, being the responsible agent in 85% or more of UTI’s in men and women. Repeated bouts of UTI are not only disabling but potentially serious. The organisms often develop “immunity” to the most common antibiotics, Cipro and Keflex .
And, of course, these drugs create many gastrointestinal problems, because they also kill the friendly probiotics so essential to our lives. The solution in a significant majority of sufferers —
D-Mannose! Safe and remarkably effective, D-Mannose is not metabolized, does not raise blood sugar and passes out in the urine. E-coli are much more attracted to D-Mannose than they are to the bladder lining, and they then go out every time you urinate.. Furthermore, resistance to D-Mannose appears not to occur!? A teaspoon about 4 or 5 times a day flushes the bugs away!
