The authors who predicted the current meltdown two years before it was obvious to most people have done it again. Why report this book in a column dedicated to health? To some extent health is more influenced by finances than anything other than basic ATTITUDE. As one who has felt that the economy was living in?a psychedelic dream?world since 1966, I did not find this book a SURPRISE. On the other hand, it does have some insights that may influence your plans and well-being.
Eighteen months ago I predicted that we would be lucky if the Dow did not go below 1500. I even recorded that at our local radio station where I have done a health call-in program for 20 years.

If you have not yet prepared yourself for such an ultimate economic situation, you should read this book! On page 214 you will find the most important summary of their predictions about the Mega-Depression Ahead:
- Lasts over 20 years
- GNP down 50%
- Dow down 90% (that would equal my 1500 prediction)
- Bonds & real estate down the same
- Taxes will be 50 to 70%
The Good News:
- The U.S. will be better off than the rest of the world!
- The government will shrink significantly but improve efficiency
- Increased productivity in health care and education
For those who have any resources, the authors recommend only gold for the future. Personally I think silver will outproduce gold and both these are the only commodities that will yield a profit, unless you are a true gambler and can get in and out of the market daily.
Meanwhile the Time has Come, the walrus said, to batten down the hatches, convert any yard/lawn into a garden and learn optimal management of stress, which is always at the top of the list for health!
THIS IS ALSO A CRITICAL TIME TO MAKE HEALTHY CHOICES OF NUTRITION, APPROPRIATE SUPPLEMENTS AND EXERCISE. Those are the key to health!
