Dr. sHEALy’s Peppermint Magnesium Lotion

I recently remembered taking a peppermint oil bath, usually in the summer for its cooling effect—about a tablespoon in the tub. Remarkably relaxing and energizing. I added some to my usual hot soak. As I dried off, I added a bit of the oil to my bottle of magnesium lotion and loved the cooling but energizing feeling. A quick evaluation by half a dozen friends proved it to be a great hit.

Peppermint oil is widely used internally for digestion and related issues. On the skin, it is used to reduce muscle spasms and pain. It has a mild stimulating effect upon the circulation. The odor appears to increase mental alertness and indeed is one of the most pleasant of all aroma oils. Peppermint oil is also antibacterial and antiviral.
