Can You Get Off Of Diabetes Medication?

The answer is yes, if you have type 2 diabetes and enough common sense to have excellent NORMAL HEALTH HABITS, you can get off of diabetes medication!

The following are the normal health habits you need to have if you want to get off of your diabetes mediation.

At the top of the list is a body mass index between 18 and 24. That means eat NO wheat, white potatoes, white rice, starches, carbohydrates, alcohol, wine and sugar, as well as sugar substitutes!

If you crave sweet, take a gymnema capsule, open it and put about one fifth of the contents on your tongue. You will not be able to taste sweet for several hours. Repeat as needed until you are cured of the craving.

Second, you must TRAIN YOUR BRAIN and the optimal way to do that is to practice Autogenic Training. If you ignore this or know that you will not follow through, stop reading as you are hopeless! And, no, you will not be able to get off of your diabetes medication.

Third in importance is supplements, which may include Fenugreek, Berberine, gymnema sylvestre, cinnamon, Lion’s Mane, chromium, Schizandrae, balloon flower root, licorice, astralgus, lyceum, wild yam, Solomon’s seal, mulberry, shepherd’s purse, and zinc. Of course, you will need a holistic physician to guide you in the selections that are best for you.

Fourth is physical exercise! You must move at least moderately a minimum of an hour a day. It can be walking, yoga, bouncing, biking–stationery or moving, gymnastics, weight lifting. Just MOVE!

Fifth is sleep, preferably eight hours EVERY night and NEVER less than seven.

If you are a smoker, STOP!

As with all people in today’s polluted world, you need much more of essential vitamin supplements.

You will want to make sure you have enough vitamin D 3. You will want to take 50,000 units a week if you weigh 140 pounds or more. If you weigh less than 140 pounds, you will want to take 50,000 units on the first, tenth and twentieth of the month.

So, can you get off of diabetes medication?

You can, if you are willing to be conscientious, spiritual, loving and kind. And if you have a health Intelligent Quotient of at least 90 because you are adhering to the normal health habits!

We cannot do it for you. In fact, no one can do it except YOU!

In case you are not yet convinced that you can get off of diabetes medication, look at the side effects of the common diabetes prescription metformin.

According to drugs.com, commonly reported side effects of metformin include: 

Lactic acidosis, diarrhea, nausea, nausea and vomiting, and flatulence. 

Death, hypothermia, hypotension, and resistant arrhythmias have been reported due to metformin-associated lactic acidosis. Onset may be subtle and include nonspecific symptoms such as malaise, myalgia, respiratory distress, somnolence, and abdominal distress; laboratory abnormalities include low pH, increased anion gap and elevated blood lactate.

The risk of lactic acidosis increases with renal or hepatic impairment, aged 65 years or older, having a radiological study with contrast, surgery, or other procedures, hypoxic states, and excessive alcohol intake.

If lactic acidosis is suspected, metformin hydrochloride should be discontinued, supportive measures started in a hospital setting. Prompt hemodialysis is recommended.

Other side effects include:

Asthenia (weakness) and decreased vitamin b12 serum concentrate.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking metformin:

More common

  • Abdominal or stomach discomfort
  • Cough or hoarseness
  • decreased appetite
  • diarrhea
  • fast or shallow breathing
  • fever or chills
  • general feeling of discomfort
  • lower back or side pain
  • muscle pain or cramping
  • painful or difficult urination
  • sleepiness

Less common

  • Anxiety
  • blurred vision
  • chest discomfort
  • cold sweats
  • coma
  • confusion
  • cool, pale skin
  • depression
  • difficult or labored breathing
  • dizziness
  • fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  • feeling of warmth
  • headache
  • increased hunger
  • increased sweating
  • nausea
  • nervousness
  • nightmares
  • redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  • seizures
  • shakiness
  • slurred speech
  • tightness in the chest
  • unusual tiredness or weakness

Rare

  • Behavior change similar to being drunk
  • difficulty with concentrating
  • drowsiness
  • lack or loss of strength
  • restless sleep
  • unusual sleepiness

Side effects not requiring immediate medical attention

  • Acid or sour stomach
  • belching
  • bloated
  • excess air or gas in the stomach or intestines
  • full feeling
  • heartburn
  • indigestion
  • loss of appetite
  • metallic taste in the mouth
  • passing of gas
  • stomach ache
  • stomach upset or pain
  • vomiting
  • weight loss
  • abnormal stools
  • bad, unusual, or unpleasant (after) taste
  • change in taste
  • difficulty with moving
  • discoloration of the fingernails or toenails
  • flu-like symptoms
  • joint pain
  • rash
  • sneezing
  • stuffy or runny nose
  • swollen joints.
