Can we financially or politically afford the potential of Americans to an average of 100 years? All that would have to change for a longer life expectancy to happen is for ALL Americans to:

  • Avoid smoking, street drugs, and excess alcohol
  • Keep a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 19 and 24
  • Eat a minimum of 5 servings per day of fruits and/or vegetables
  • Exercise a minimum of 30 minutes 3 times a week

Shockingly, less than 3% of Americans have all four of these basic health habits! Such simple common-sense habits are the tip of an enormous cornucopia of potential health improvements that are possible. Minimize pollution of air, earth, and water and minimize the excessive use of drugs, and a virtual miracle of health would appear. With these changes in habits, heart disease, diabetes, and many cancers would vanish over a 10 to 20 year period. Average life expectancy would jump to over 100 years!

But, how quickly could we replace junk food with real food? And what are the consequences of the financial changes in the food industry? What would happen if pharmaceutical use fell 80+%? And if hospitals lost 50+% of their patients? Interestingly half of all hospitals were closed in the early 20th century and we survived and thrived.

Average life expectancy would jump to at least 140 years if individuals then added the simple and safe techniques for:

  • Rejuvenating DHEA
  • Optimizing thyroid function and calcitonin production to keep bones strong
  • Reducing free radicals to a minimum

Imagine the radical social changes resulting from these simple common-sense health habits. The financial fallout would be substantial. How would the government cope if average life expectancy increased 22+ years or more? Fortunately, the savings in Medicare medical expenses would partially compensate for the longer time individuals received Social Security. But the social and political changes would be the greatest in well over 100 years.

We have the technology to extend healthy life well beyond 100 years. Unless the Federal Government and the public act soon, average life expectancy will drop over the next decade. That is NOT the solution to the Medicare and Social Security crisis! Actually, the least costly and most efficacious solution would be for all Americans to take responsibility for their health and to choose to live. The choices some 97% of Americans make are accelerating illness and excess Medical intervention while shortening life! Even if 50% of Americans adopted the simple essentials for a healthy life, the impact would be tremendous. And the benefits in happiness would be the greatest gift of all.
