“Can I get off my thyroid medication?” is one of the questions most people struggling with hypothyroidism ask at one time or another. And it cannot be answered until more details about your specific situation are understood.

What is hypothyroidism?

When the thyroid glad is not able to make enough thyroid hormone to keep the body functioning normally, that is known as hypothyroidism.

The only accurate test for hypothyroidism is oral temperature when you are out of bed two or three hours. Temperature should be 98.6 degrees.

The most common complaints in women with hypothyroidism are lack of energy and hair loss but the list is far longer. Commonly noted symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, sensitivity to cold, increased cholesterol, constipation, dry skin, puffy face, hoarseness, muscle weakness, aches, tenderness, stiffness, joint pain, stiffness, swelling, irregular menstrual periods, dry hair and hair loss.

In men the common symptoms are feeling cold, fatigue, dry skin and brittle nails, constipation, depression, trouble concentrating, sore muscles, weight gain, and loss of interest in sex.

Why is hypothyroidism so prevalent?

Thyroid hormone is triiodothyronine, with 3 atoms of iodine added to the amino acid thyronine.

Interestingly, neither the body nor the lab can distinguish between trifluoro thyronine and triiodothyronine.

When fluoride is present, the body attaches to fluoride instead of iodine. And the result is hypothyroidism which is epidemic in cities with fluoridated water.

In the lab, the thyroid hormone test does not distinguish between tri-iodine and triflurodated! Therefore, the only accurate test for hypothyroidism is oral temperature.

One other reason hypothyroidism is so prevalent is a lack of iodine in the diet. With a diet lacking in iodine, you are a sitting duck for fake fluoridated thyronine.

What are the treatments for hypothyroidism?

The average conventional treatment for hypothyroidism is levothyroxine, which in our experience does not adequately treat the problem ninety percent of the time.

Armour thyroid is by far the superior effective way to bring temperature and the other hypothyroid symptoms back to normal.

Can I get off my thyroid medication?

Now, with this background information, we can answer this question.

You can ONLY get off your thyroid medication if your hypothyroidism is diagnosed early and you avoid fluoride!

Our typical prescription for our clients who are candidates for getting off thyroid medication is two-fold. We ask them to take 150 micrograms daily of iodine coupled with daily use of Fire Bliss. This prescription is worth a one-to-two-month trial and works about 60% of the time, if started early.

If it does not work, then Armour thyroid is a lifelong necessity.

The superior thyroid medication.

Armour thyroid is, in our opinion, the superior medication for treating hypothyroidism. A dose of 30 to 60 mg is usually the first step. Although, some people require up to 180 mg of Armour Thyroid.

Excess thyroid hormone can cause changes in appetite, changes in menstrual periods, chest pain, diarrhea, fast or irregular heartbeat, fever, hand tremors, headache, irritability, leg cramps, nervousness, sensitivity to heat, shortness of breath, sweating, trouble sleeping, vomiting, weight loss. Therefore, it is important to work with your doctor to determine your correct dose of Armour thyroid.

Other concerns to be aware of.

Adrenal fatigue is occasionally also present in those with hypothyroidism. With the adrenal symptoms of fatigue, weight loss, dizziness, craving for salt, loss of pubic hair, headaches, postural hypotension, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and hyperpigmentation of the skin. Any of these symptoms that are not part of hypothyroidism, is a warning to check for adrenal burnout!

Holistic ways to support your thyroid medication.

If you are unable to get off your thyroid medication, there are still holistic ways you can support your body.

Satisfactory management of hypothyroidism with Armour Thyroid may be done for many decades. Of course, all essential health habits remain important when treating the individual. This is particularly important with essential basics of health.

The basics include the following:

  1. Appropriate supplementation.
Basic supplementation includes B complex, D 3, and vitamin C.
  2. A healthy diet.
To have a healthy diet, you need to avoid junk food, rice, potatoes, wheat, sugar and the 80% of food that is altered, faked, substituted, etc.

A healthy diet is not just about what you avoid. It is also about what you consume. You need adequate intake (8 to 10 servings) of vegetables and fruts alon with quality protein daily.
  3. No smoking.
By this we mean no smoking of any kind.
  4. Physical exercise.
You need to have at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise 5 or more days a week to best support your overall health.
  5. Adquate sleep.
You need between 7 and 8 hours of sleep every night.

Since it is cumulative stress that ultimately causes the thyroid to fail, you must be aware of all the sources of stress in your life.

These sources of stress include excess electromagnetic exposure. A new review of research has found that cell phone radiation adversely affects cells in the thyroid gland and thyroid hormones as well as increasing adrenal fatigue.

Researchers report that low-dose EMF (electromagnetic field) radiation emitted from computer monitors adversely affects thyroid hormone levels in females, a problem that was surprisingly reversed by zinc supplementation. Ultimately everything affects everything.

A normal healthy thyroid is a peaceful one, never over frazzled, and the result of detachment from stress. Practicing Biogenics® daily is one way to sustain the steady, peaceful nature of normal thyroid function.
