ANTIBIOTIC PLAGUE

C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D.

Penicillin was discovered in 1928 but did not become widely available for well over 2 decades. Since then antibiotics have reproduced like hybrid rabbits and can save lives. BUT the misuse of antibiotics has grown faster than the legitimate use. Use of antibiotics in animals for rapid weight gain is an abomination. There is strong evidence that antibiotic use in children increases the risk of asthma and obesity. At all ages antibiotic use leads to autoimmune diseases, dysbiosis and somewhat to obesity. The dysbiosis is a major contributor to irritable bowel disease and many other gastrointestinal problems.

The bottom line is that antibiotics should be used ONLY when there is a real need-this of course requires a “Real Doctor”, one with common sense, intuition and skill!

Farmers and the food mafia should be caned in Public Square for using antibiotics for other than significant infections!
