Many people and even many physicians ask, “Why take supplements?” And this question is often followed by, “Assuming you do take supplements, which are the best supplements to take daily?”

Let us take the questions one at a time.

At the top of the list of reasons why you should take supplements daily is toxicity.

We live in a world of poisonous toxins released since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution! Increased dirt, radioactivity, plastics, fluoride, pesticides and herbicides, as well as severe soil deficiency in magnesium.

Did you know? Wheat is now the most polluted food in the world with triple doses of glyphosate (Roundup).

The more toxins we breathe and drink, the greater our need for essential vitamins and minerals. Once upon a time B complex consisted of one to two and a half mg of the basic B’s. Today an adult needs 25 mg of B complex, to avoid dementia!

Even so basic a need as vitamin D has changed over the centuries. An hour of sun on the face and arm produce a measly 400 units of D3. In today’s polluted world we need 5000 units to 10,000 units daily! 400 units is a drop in the bucket. Once 100 mg of vitamin C was the recommended daily intake. Now the ideal is 2000 mg.

In general, vitamins come mainly from vegetables and a few from fruits. The average American eats 2.2 servings a day while the MINIMUM recommendation is five and ideal is eight to ten.

Eighty percent of the food available for purchase is JUNK! In general “fast” food restaurants also poison you with monosodium glutamate (MSG) which is a neurotoxin! MSG is also readily found in canned soups and in Asian restaurants.

And the food industry is as evil as the tobacco industry. Virtually everything on the center aisles in grocery stores is harmful and artificially altered. If it is in a can, plastic, or wrapped in cardboard or paper, it is not natural.

Which are the best supplements to take daily? You won’t find them in the grocery store!

Vitamin D 3

Although we don’t recommend taking this first supplement daily, it is so vital to health that we had to add it to the list. Vitamin D 3 has been shown to significantly decrease the risk of viral infections. Studies in school children showed that 600,000 units of D 3 at the beginning of the school year lowered viral infections almost 90%. And if you feel a bug knocking at the door, take 150,000 units three days in a row!

It is best taken once a week or 3 times a month depending on your weight. If you weigh under 140 pounds take 50,000 units of D 3 the first, tenth and twentieth each month. And if you weigh 140 or more take 50,000 unit once a week.

Multivitamin without iron

Next in line is a good multivitamin, without iron. Men, especially, can get severe liver damage from taking iron supplements. We recommend Shealy-Sorin Eco-Green Iron-Free Essentials, 2 daily for the average adult. That gives you 25 mg of B1, B2, B4 and B6 with the daily essentials of folic acid, B 12, biotin, pantothenic acid, choline, ginseng, green tea, inositol, bioflavonoids, bromelain, PABA, rutin, papain, protease, lipase, amylase, and vanadium, iodine, zinc, selenium, copper, manganese, chromium, molybdenum, and supplemented with spirulina.

Youth Formula

Next and critically important is Shealy-Sorin Youth Formula, with 2000 mg of vitamin C, 1000 mg of MSM, and beta glucan and molybdenum. The combo helps maintain a healthy level of DHEA, dehydroepiandrosterone, the most important hormone in the body because it’s the antidote to stress!

Right now you can get Shealy-Sorin Eco-Green Essentials + Shealy Sorin Youth Formula as a bundle at a discounted price.

Magnesium

Magnesium is the last of the best supplements to take daily. Since our soil is magnesium deficient, 80% of Americans are deficient in magnesium, an element essential in 350 different biochemical body functions!

Unfortunately, magnesium taken orally is very poorly absorbed, especially if taken when there is calcium, fat or protein in the intestine at the same time.

Luckily, it is readily absorbed through the skin when applied as a lotion. Just 2 teaspoons of Biogenics Magnesium Lotion applied on the skin twice daily provides this essential nutrient and raises DHEA, the anti-stress hormone.

They come from the whole food you eat. Whole food includes natural protein, vegetables, fruits and fat.

Fish is overall the ideal protein, but naturally raise beef, chicken, and pork are fine. Hemp protein is the best vegetable protein, with legumes also good. BUT no vegetable protein contains taurine, one of the most essentials for a calm nervous system. Eggs and milk protein are also superb.

Interestingly, Ellen G. White, founder of 7th Day Adventists recommended a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet, but she also said, “When you are sick, you need meat.” If you need it when you are sick, it must be basically good for you!

The bottom line is that after air and non-fluoridated water, healthy nutrition in general is critical for life and health. EAT ONLY REAL FOOD! Avoid fast food restaurants, center aisles in grocery stores, and all wheat, sugar, white rice and white potatoes.

When you adhere to these guidelines and take the recommended daily supplements, you will have established a foundation of a healthy diet which is the first step to healthy longevity.
